The FIRST Story of 2018 is on its way....
The first title that came to my mind was Fire in the West. Then I heard about the new book about one Donald Trump. I love the title: Fire and Fury. I crossed out the first title and replaced it with Fire and Fury in the West. It didn't come out the way I wanted. I crossed it out.
I read the first paragraph of the draft. It's a story of power. A story of ambition. A story of a leader and his estranged deputy. It's a story of people and their fight for justice. It's a story of an incorruptible judiciary.
Slowly, I typed out what I hope is going to be the final (?) title...
Thunderstorms in the West: The Story of....
PS: It's not the story of Awolowo and Akintola...
Welcome to 2018! It's going to be a fantastic year!

ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your writeups. I was almost enjoying this particular one until I saw some distortions - write from the beginning -and I just couldn't continue. 1. During Operation Wetie (1965), Nigeria was operating Regional Government as against State Government as you tend to claim. 2. The crisis wasn't in the 1970s but in 1965.
ReplyDeleteSincerely, I am struggling to understand this. Will you be kind to point out where reference was made to the facts you claimed Onigegewura made. As I am not endowed with monopoly of knowledge, I am always excited to learn from others. I appreciate your comment.
DeleteAll this actually happened in Ondo state? O GA oooo... Going by history we never had commendable foundation for democracy ...It's all been based on logistics of thoughts on how to win votes..
